coffee lemonade

 

                                
                                    

400 ml cold black coffee
250 ml freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 2.5 large lemons)
500 ml tonic
ice
lemon or orange slices for garnish
1 cup of sugar
zest of 1 lemon
  Pour sugar into a saucepan, add lemon zest, pour 1 glass of water. Bring to a boil and simmer until the sugar crystals have dissolved. Strain, cool and refrigerate for 1 hour.
Mix coffee with 250 ml of syrup and lemon juice, stir. Top up with tonic. Serve over ice and garnish with citrus slices.
